Miguel Farías, a Venezuelan-Chilean composer, writer, and PhD in Latin American Studies, was born in 1983. He has earned numerous prestigious awards, and has been involved in major programs such as the Lucerne Festival, curated by Pierre Boulez. His operas, including Renca, Paris, y Liendres, El Cristo de Elqui, and La Compuerta nº12, highlight his focus on the intersection of music and literature, as well as social and political themes. Farías' work has been performed by orchestras worldwide, including the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Philharmonic (LAPhil). In 2024, he published his debut novel Plástico, He is an associate professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
